Information About Home and Away Regattas

2025 Season

2026 Spring Regattas will be every Saturday beginning on 21 March with the Yorktown Scrimmage. They run through 16 May ending with the Stotesbury Cup Regatta.

Qualifying boats from the VASRA VSRC "States" Regatta on 2 May and 9 May move forward to SRAA National Championships on 21-23 May in Oakridge TN and possibly to Youth Nationals 4-6 June in Sarasota, FL.

SPECTATORS - CHEER ON WARHAWK CREW!

All crew parents, family members, and supporters are welcomed to cheer on the team in the Madison cheering section at the grandstands (look for the Warhawk Crew flag). Approximate race times of each Madison event are available through VASRA each Friday and typically distributed by Warhawk Crew through Slack Channels and Twitter.

Note: Schedule of events may change up to the day of the event so check back often

Faciliities

At Sandy Run, parking lots, boathouse, and racecourse are not in close proximity. Wear good walking shoes, dress in layers, and bring rain gear.  Many spectators bring their own lawn chairs, seat cushions, and/or blankets. Binoculars are also a good idea. No dogs or other pets are permitted at Sandy Run on regatta days. Concession stands are available at both the boathouse and spectator stands, as are port-o-potties.

Parking & Shuttle service

There is no on-site visitor parking at Sandy Run Regional Park.  All spectator parking is at South County High School or alternate location provided by VASRA.  There is a shuttle bus to the parking location at Sandy Run that will cost $10 per person per trip (only cash accepted).

Note: Handicap parking is available on site with official tags or license plates.

There is a walking path from the shuttle drop off to the viewing area at the grandstands (it is a dirt path with lots of hills/steep areas). There is also a second shuttle to the viewing area from the drop off $5/person each way.  Expect long delays - so at least 90 minutes from parking to the viewing area.

This information and more concerning regatta parking is found on the VASRA website.
