JMHS Crew Service Requirements
Madison Crew is a volunteer-run organization. Each family is expected to contribute its time and talents in some way in order to provide the best experience for our rowers. Here is a summary of the parent service/volunteer requirements for each Madison Crew family: Sign-ups will be done though a mysignup.com site (we are still waiting for the finalization of the VASRA schedule)  – please see the members only section for further detail.
  • Potentially one day of bus chaperoning (round-trip) during water practice (Feb.-May) at Sandy Run Regional Park on the Occoquan River. Bus leaves Madison at 2:45pm and returns around 6:30-6:45pm. Each family needs to sign up as an alternate one time in case a coach is unable to ride the bus.
  • One Regatta/Sandy Run job. These are volunteer jobs assigned to Madison by the Virginia Scholastic Rowing Association (VASRA). We are fined $50 for any job not completed.
  • One Regatta Hospitality job. These jobs are either providing food to the rowers for the regattas or cleanup/setup of the hospitality area. In the past, these jobs were “optional”, but his year every family is required to sign up for one hospitality job.
  • Sign up for one JMCBO committee and participate as necessary. Committees include Hospitality, Operations, Fundraising, and Communications
  • Other “All Hands on Deck” requirements for fundraising (mulch delivery) as well as JMCBO work days at Sandy Run.
